The New Brunswick Woman's Home Missionary Society holds its annual meeting tomorrow at Simpson Memorial M E Church. Delegates from eleven auxiliaries will report progress, with devotions led by Miss Josephine Corbin and Rev. Alfonso Dare providing greetings. New officers will be elected at adjournment.

Sociable Held at Presbyterian Church Chapel

A congregational sociable was held in the Presbyterian Church chapel last night with Rev Dr Lovell's pleas ing. A vocal and instrumental program was provided by younger members. Social intercourse and refreshments added to the evening's pleasure with about 1000 present.

Re-elected Secretary Named for State Board of Health

Dr Bruce 8 Keator of Asbury Park was re-elected secretary of the State Board of Health at its reorganization in Trenton yesterday. Henry M Herbert of Bound Brook retired after not being reappointed by Governor Wilson. Richard Cole New of Montclair succeeded him. J H Stick of Montville was re-elected. No changes were made to board employees.

Rebels Storm Juarez Cathedral and Jail in Juarez Battle

In May at El Paso and Juarez rebel forces entered Juarez by ten A.M. storming the Cathedral, the federal stronghold, and later the jail with insurgent flags flying atop City Hall. One death and several American injuries were reported as fighting raged, with Navarro awaiting Rabago’s thousand troops to push back rebels.

Pro Prprietor Gives Complimentary Dinner at Abbott Hotel

Benjamin Jennings ele, new proprietor of Hotel Abbott, held his first complimentary dinner last night for friends and officials. Little Henry catered a multi course menu with chicken noodle soup fried eels giblet stew and Maryland fried chicken among the dishes. The lavish service covered a hundred covers and continued past midnight.

Knights of Columbus elect officers in Columbus convention

The Knights of Columbus convention elected state deputy Cornelius McGlennon of Newark and other officers including secretary James O'Neal of Jersey City treasurer James J. Toomey of Merchantville advocate Patrick Dolan of Newark warden Thomas O'Brien of Jersey City chaplain T A Hart of Mowat Holly and chose Mount Holly as the next meeting place. Thomas P Fay of Long Branch was re elected as National Council delegate for the tenth year. Rev Jamies A Reynolds of Hed Bank preached the sermon. The secretary reported 9 192 members in 56 councils with two new councils instituted that year.

Vespucci Society Ball Delights Norwood Avenue Project

The Amerigo Vespucci Society held its 14th annual ball at the Lyceum with a parade through Broadway in uniform and a Musto orchestra concert. About 100 couples danced as refreshments and a reception room were arranged, under officers led by Joseph Fiorillo and Pasquale Bruno. Rushing Work on the Pier and Ocean Park Progress

The new ocean pier work resumed with Hennecke Construction Co. of New York driving piling and laying flooring for completion this summer. Supt. Twaige and a 40 man crew push two shifts to expedite progress as engineers brief daily. five piling per day expected and project to finish in thirty days. Ocean Park improvements include a scenic railway due May 30 and electric wiring by Consolidated Gas Co. crews as work continues toward completion.

Port au Peck Fire Gutts Jersey City Bungalow

Fire destroyed a bungalow in Port au Peck owned by William Delz of Jersey City. Firemen from Port-au-Peck and Oceanport responded, arriving five minutes after discovery near Rockwell Avenue. Interior was gutted with smoke and heat. cause undetermined, with damage confined inside and noise from water and hoses.
