Red Bank Fire Damages Home On Beach Street
A fire at Beach street near Shrews bury avenue Red Bank damaged a house owned by O Neil and O Neil of Brooklyn and occupied by Mrs Lille Jackson. Five fire companies fought the blaze which started likely from matches in a second floor bureau. The interior was damaged by water but the bedroom was destroyed and a room mate Miss Celia Crue lost clothes and eight dollars. A nearby neighbor aided in removing furnishings.

On the New York and Long Branch Railroad a clash between around two hundred Italian strikers and 26 uniformed Jersey City detectives ended with twenty one arrests. Detectives fired a volley to intimidate the crowd. Justice Sickles fined each arrestee twenty dollars and thirty days in jail. The incident disrupted service toward Freehold and Point Pleasant, with several injured but none seriously.
