Temporary officers plan to draft a permanent trotting association as horse owners in the area delay officers’ election until next Wednesday. Long coaching party completes 134 mile trip at 9 mph

Paul Sorg leads a 134 mile coach journey from Atlantic City to Holland Landing New York returning with no accidents. The party left Likayweed Frere at 12 hours 1½ minutes for the 184 miles to shore resort and back. Sorg and companions plus exhibitors at Long Branch Horse Show are noted for the efficient trip and speed.

Aged Mrs Clayton Dies at Oceanport After Long Illness

Oceanport mourns as Mrs Caroline Clayton died after a week long illness at her home. Doctors Crater and Chasey stated no hope of recovery. Ivins Wins State Trap Championship at Matawan

Albert L Ivins Red Bank assessor and crack shot won the state individual trap title at Matawan breaking 47 of 60 blue rocks in the fifty yard match against William A Kennedy. Kennedy known as Doc broke 46 targets in ideal trapshooting conditions. Ivins will compete next in Montclair with a Metropolitan championship shoot featuring a 10 bird event open to entrants within 75 miles of New York. A silver loving cup valued in gold awaits the winner.
