Arrest in Willow Avenue Shooting Ends with Capture

Antonio Bongazone was apprehended by Detective Captain William D. Walling on Morris Avenue after a shooting near Willow Avenue last Friday. Chiadione, shot in the hip, is expected to leave hospital soon. Bongazone, claiming self defense, posted 2000 bail while three witnesses await grand jury action.

The Queen Esther Circle of Simpson Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church celebrated its fifth anniversary Friday night with about 200 attendees from Asbury Park Asbury M E Church Sea Bright and St Luke's Home Mission Circle. A varied program featured piano duets prayers songs readings and group introductions followed by refreshments.

Port Monmouth Man Dies After Illness at 72

Robert Ross, a Port Monmouth resident and Connecticut native, died Thursday night at age seventy two after a long illness linked to a double hernia. He served in the Third Regiment and later the navy during the Civil War, taking part in Bull Run and the Fort Pish attack campaigns. Funeral services were planned for Connecticut for burial.
