Mystery blaze threatens multiple buildings in High street area
A fire at 10 30 last night endangered barns and nearby outbuildings owned by John Youman g and Joseph Bodine on High street. Strong winds spread sparks as firefighters fought a rapidly advancing blaze that destroyed parts of two barns and storage structures while residents evacuated horses and carriages. The incident followed a separate Loch Arbour house fire causing $20 000 in losses, fully insured.

Automobilist Stops Runaway Horse in Red Bank
John H. Cook Jr of Red Bank leaped from his car on East Front street and caught the runaway horse before it could jump its reins loose. The horse attached to a light wagon caused a wreck near Globe Hotel and damaged Fred Wycker's auto. Separate incident follows of H W Taylor unhurt after leaping from his runabout when a driven horse ran wild through Riverside and Front streets. Fire alarm box 51 will be tested tomorrow after two bell taps.

Mrs. Catherine A. Reid, 40s, of a Freehold farm, was struck on South Street by a Ford runabout driven by George A. Deeks of Ard na while crossing. She died twenty minutes later after being taken to Edward Maher’s home. Witnesses said the car did not seem fast. the driver could not stop. Deeks stopped and aided her into the home as County Physician Harry Neafie arrived. Reed leaves four sons and four daughters.
