25 DROWNED WHEN LINER COLLIDES WITH BARK AND SINKS
London reports a collision at East Bourne between the Peninsula and Oriental Liner Oceana and the German bark Pigugua. Twenty five passengers drowned. all aboard rescued after a small lifeboat capsized. The Oceana carried five million dollars in specie and sank an hour after a hole was rammed in the port side.
