Daly of Long Branch Club Passes After Heart Trouble
Philip Daly, famed clubman and founder of the Pennsylvania Club at Long Branch, died at his Second Avenue home in Long Branch at ten minutes to ten o'clock. He would have turned 75. Daly, born in Philadelphia in 1816, built a reputation for honesty and square dealing, once running gambling houses and a celebrated Long Branch club favored by rich players. He leaves a wife and two daughters, with a legacy tied to sporting circles and prominent figures.

Funeral for Dr Cantwell Draws Long Cotillion of Clergy
