Train Kills Small Boy In Belmar Nine-Year-Old Fatally Struck
Nine-year-old Freddie Brand of Belmar was struck by a Long Branch Philadelphia train near Eighteenth avenue while gathering coal along the tracks. He died about an hour later at Ann May Hospital in Spring Lake. The license held by Thomas J Thompson for the New Bedford Hotel in Wall township was transferred to William A Tul ton. Halsey Parker colored pleaded guilty to stealing a bag of coal from the New Jersey Central Railroad at Red Bank. He was released under a suspended sentence till the first Tuesday in May. The sentencing of Henry Johnson who had previously pleaded guilty to assault and robbing Dallas Young at Keyport was deferred a week upon motion of A J C Stokes his counsel who said that his client had witnesses to his previous good character whom he wished to produce before sentence was imposed.
