Baer Roll-Call at New Monmouth

The New Monmouth Baptist Church held its annual roll call and meeting in ideal early spring weather. Attendance exceeded seating capacity of 800 as reports showed nine new members, treasury gains, and active departments including Sunday school, Christian Endeavor, and women’s circles.

Robert Laird Dead Scobeyville Distiller at 73

Robert Laird a longtime Scobeyville distiller died at his home Thursday at 10 am in his 74th year after paralysis struck February 15. Survived by brother Joseph Laird of Freehold, his funeral will be held at 11 am Monday at the house with interment in Freehold.

Feeders' Club Session Highlights Band Debut

The Feeders' Club enjoyed a social evening at Elke's Home with Arthur Sussman as chair. A notable feature was the Feeders' band performance. Ed von Kattengill of Red Bank will chair the next session. Also announced: Library Hall executive meet and a Purim Ball by Hebrew Ladies' Benevolent Society on March 4, with prizes for costumes and tickets 50c. Rentals advertised at 186 Broadway.

Keyport Publicity Dinner Boosts Town Image

Keyport received a strong lift from a Publicity Bureau dinner at the Majestic Theatre. Over 200 leaders from newspapers, railroads, trolleys, and local business gathered to promote Keyport as a residence, manufacturing, and resort, with plans to put the bay town on a wider map.

Commission League Opens Headquarters in City Store

The Commission Government League opened its headquarters at the corner of Broadway and Third Avenue. Secretary Richard Bennett will greet visitors and explain the commission plan. Elizabeth Pastors Coming to Long Branch Mass Meeting

Last Obstruction Cleared at Ocean Avenue Pier Site

The cement house used by Hen nebique Construction Co. has been removed from Ocean avenue and stored on the new concrete pier. The avenue is now clear for the first time since the pier began. Jacob Steinbach installs three 20th Century Clothing revolving showcases holding 270 suits. Meeting of Executive Committee tonight at Library Hall. Mrs. Lloyd Laid to Rest in West Summit NJ

Funeral for Mrs. Frank Lloyd, née Warner, who died at her home in West Summit New Jersey, was held Wednesday afternoon at her sister Mrs. James Guire's Hollywood Avenue residence. Rev. Fred Waller and W H Piper set out from Broadway via Pleasure Bay for Red Bank with relays planned en route. After tiring near the Shewsbury river they decided to turn back after crossing the drawbridge and called a carriage to retrieve them. They returned home feeling no worse for the journey.

Supper at Red Bank Church Draws Big Crowd

An attractive leap year supper at the First Baptist Church in Red Bank drew praise for its decor and spread. The Philathea Sadlety with Ladies Aid and Men's League served a generous meal from 6 40 to 8, with over 130 dollars expected to be cleared. Flowers, jonquil color scheme, and white dresses with brass accents enhanced the scene.

Tree Limb Breaks Trolley Wire in Red Bank

A large tree felled near Morgan V. Disbrow’s property struck a trolley wire on Bridge Avenue by the Jersey Central Traction near the railroad station. Jersey Central cars were stalled about two hours until the wire was repaired by the Keyport wrecking crew with help from M. C. BE. Company workers.

Back From Burial of Sister In Law in Keystone City

William H. Brehm returned from Mauch Chunk last night and visited Keystone City to attend the burial of his sister in law Mrs Hep Brehm on Wednesday. The deceased died last Saturday and survived her husband by two years. There are two small surviving children. A snow storm affected Mauch Chunk on Wednesday.
