Members of the Essex County grand jury for the April term enjoyed a dinner at Stole's Green Gables then rode a special Pullman to a seaside resort. Nearly a hundred members of the Eintracht Singing Society of Red Bank and guests attended the annual picnic yesterday at George A. Steele's grove in Tinton Avenue Eatontown. The group traveled by trolley cars to Eatontown then by automobile to the grove for a noon dinner and speeches. Afternoon events included athletic contests such as a fat man's race and a social program with refreshments and entertainment ending around six.

War Matron Louisa Meehan Dies in Hospital
Mrs. Louisa Meehan widow of Thomas Meehan died Saturday night at 8 30 in Monmouth Memorial Hospital at age eighty due to complications. Funeral service Wednesday at nine at the Meehan home Chelsea Avenue then at Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea. Interment Mount Carmel cemetery West Long Branch. Born in New York she lived in Long Branch since the Civil War era. She served as matron with the arsenal at Pittsburg during the war and was widely regarded among friends.
