Eight Months After Freedom Card Arrested in Potatoes heist
Charles Card, a Nayesink resident, is captured by Atlantic Highlands Chief Snedeker and jailed in Freehold for embezzling $21 from liveryman York. Card had driven a team to Middleton to fetch potatoes, failed to return by noon, and a Middletown sighting tied the horses to York’s property. He pleaded to theft but offered repayment.
