The Oceanic high school held graduation exercises in the school auditorium with a decorated hall and a motto reading With the Ropes of the Past We Ring the Bells of the Future. Performances included piano duets by Marjorie Mullen and Kathryn Sweeney, a salutatory by Samuel Harvey, songs by Frieda Chandt and Marjorie Mullen, and the valedictory Ariel Seaman. Principal Lloyd Wheller and Rutgers alumnus Austin Scott spoke. Ten graduates were named alongside eight grade members.

Daylight burglary suspect held without bail in Red Bank
William Lockett alias Randolph Jana Williams, a Black man living near Little Silver, is held without bail on a daytime burglary charge in Red Bank. Mrs Hendrickson reports jewelry stolen from her daughter Mary C Hendrickson, valued about 300 dollars, with a ring later pawned in town identified by Milas Hendrickson. Detectives Minugh and local police connected Lockett to the Hendrickson home break in and a hearing set before Recorder Badeau.
