Pier Contract for 1,400,000 Awarded in Long Branch
Preliminary steps toward erecting a new concrete and steel pier in front of the Mansion house property were taken as Long Branch Pier and Land Company awarded contractor Samuel R. Rosoff a 1.4 million dollar deal. Rosoff agreed to complete the pier and buildings in fifteen months, with concrete work to be finished before freezing weather and the project aiming for steamers to land before the 1911 season. Lumber firm Chandler & Maps received a 126,000 feet order to start deliveries this afternoon, while J. H. Rosa will supervise the work. Continued on Highth Page.
