Minister loses limbs under moving railroad train
Rev. Dr. Ross MacClements pastor of the First Presbyterian Church Asbury Park was attempting to board a moving Central Railroad passenger train at Allenhurst station when he lost balance and was dragged beneath the wheels. He sustained the loss of both legs and severe arm injuries requiring amputation and was taken to Monmouth Memorial Hospital.

Twice Fined For Running Down Roy In Sea Bright Case

Terry admitted no license. fined 16 dollars. The Rumson Improvement Company held its annual stockholders meeting at 4 AM in the law offices of Frederick W. Hope in Red Bank to elect directors. The old board, Edward D. Adams, Dr. Henry Bowen, Frederick W. Hope, A Drexel Godfrey, and Henry W. Meeker, was reelected with Adams as president and Dr Owen as secretary. Frederick W. Hope was reappointed treasurer and an executive committee of Owen, Henry B. Meeker, and Hope was chosen. The company, organized in 1892, provides water to Rumson borough via artesian wells, filtration, pumping at Fair Haven.

Lightning Strikes Causes Burns and Damage in Atlantic Highlands
A lightning storm burned a tree outline on an eight year old girl’s face at Atlantic Highlands. The bolt shattered water pipes and knocked out power, starting a fire in a cottage and smashing transformers. The girl cried from the strike and the tree pattern remained on her skin for hours before peeling. A priest from North Hampton, Macé, was assigned to New Brunswick after the Cantwell parish transfer.
