A man in custody last night described multiple robberies in a chatty account that waived formal extradition. The report notes Jersey connections and a freehold jail.
Detective Densus Walling brought James McIntyre from Greenwich to confess to a city jewel robbery. McIntyre waived extradition. Reginald Rhind is held on $10,000 bail in Greenwich awaiting extradition. Walling plans to bring all diamond robbers to trial together once Rhind arrives.
J. N. Beery opens an ice route in Red Bank using ice supplied by Monmouth Mutual Supply Company's manufacturing tee plant.
Five year old Edwina Taber of Monmouth street was named queen of the dollies by the Doll Carnival Committee. James Duffy and J B Norton freight train brakemen for Pennsylvania railroad were found guilty by a jury before Judge John B Poster of petty larceny for stealing eight pairs of shoes valued at 2.40 each from a freight car at Red Bank station on February 1. Ruzzi faced entering and insulting charges with $100 bail set for grand jury action. Charles Bass and James Cave fought in a South Broadway lunch room. Bass faced assault and stabbing claims with Cave showing facial wounds. Bass denied knife use, Moore and Cave described the brawl. Bass remained held at $100 for grand jury action. Benjamin Bender, driver for Joseph Bender, charged after driving customers to the Central Station hotel confusion. Rosie Edelsheim sought no sentence, merely a lesson. John Berg, Swede, arrested for approaching women at Central Station and sleeping on hospital grounds. 40 days imposed after he quipped he wanted everyone to be happy.
Judge Foster committed two boys to Jamesburg Reform School after admitting they robbed Snyder & Co. in Neptune township on July Fourth stealing revolvers knives ridges and $4.70. Ba Caine linked to another robbery and was sent to Reform School. George Leonard colored, accused of stealing harness fixtures from George Soffel at Colts Neck June 22, also sent to Reform School. Frank White Jr. sustained a leg wound crossing Hubbard’s Bridge.
