Plucky Women Survive Exciting Runaway at Asbury Park
Mrs. William R. Tallman and Mrs. John White of Pearl Street Oakhurst were headlines after a runaway horse on Asbury avenue and Main street. The buggy struck a telephone pole, sending Mrs. White to the gutter and Mrs. Tallman dragged over 100 feet yet both suffered only minor injuries. They drove the mare to Smock stables for repairs and returned home in the afternoon.

The January Grand Jury presented eight indictments at Freehold court this morning. A license renewal for George P. Gamble of the Triangle Hotel was approved after ownership changes were noted. Iron girders are being set for the Parker building on Broadway with roofing slated for next week if weather holds. Denise H Smock of Red Bank, Civil War veteran and brother of the late Sheriff Smock, has gone to the Soldiers Home at Kearney to live out his days. He was a noted lawyer who practiced in several counties and, in recent years, lived apart from his family. He is 76 with eight grown children and spent weeks last year as a charity patient at Monmouth Memorial Hospital.

Fourth Annual Banquet of Rumson Fire Company Held

Manson to Build Two Houses on Morford Avenue This Spring

Secret wedding announced for 18 and 21 year olds

Clam Vendor Injured in trolley Collision
Edward Bartow a clam dealer was struck by a southbound trolley near Atlantic Avenue Bridge while pulling a push cart loaded with about three thousand clams. He was tossed fifteen feet, suffered leg lacerations and numerous scratches, and was treated by Dr. Bennett after the accident.
