Law mill starts grind two dozen bills pass

Trenton Feb 16. Legislature opened work after sixth week adjournment with both houses approving a dozen bills in the Senate six more out of committee and Assembly fifteen. Key measures include white slave penalties dose tax act changes and clerk salary in Cape May plus police tenure shifts and a chestnut neck monument appropriation. Mayors conference drafts to audit municipal accounts and Sunday liquor sales considered.

Death of West End resident Alexander Hyndsman

Alexander Hyndsman a longtime West End resident and former teamster died at his Avery Avenue home after a prolonged illness in his 48th year leaving a wife six children and one sister Funeral services will be held at his house Thursday and St James Church Interment at Greenlawn cemetery Also noted Lyceum league game Neptune High School versus Chartles and a Purim ball by the Hebrew Benevolent Society with J Piomai Weat's orchestra scheduled at Townley Hall on March 22.

Ice Boat Season Ends At Long Branch Club

After an excellent season ice boats are being hauled from the Long Branch Ice Boat and Yacht Club and the South Shrewsbury Club has also completed races and began taking boats off. A new cooling system costing about five thousand dollars will replace ice for cooling at Swift Beef Company houses in Long Branch and Asbury Park, with machinery expected soon.

Heptasophs Install Officers and Feast in Long Branch

Long Branch Conclave No. 662 of the Improved Order of Heptasophs held its annual installation of officers at 7:30 with District Deputy Archon Hf. H. Heath of Asbury Park officiating. The 1916 slate included Archon John H. Davin Jr and Past Archon John G. Sexton among others. Following the ceremony members attended a banquet at Newing's Hotel, served from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. The event, described as the best banquet yet, featured a formal menu and ornate toasts planning by Past Archon Sexton, then closed with remarks praising the hostelry.

Miss Agnes Edwards 26 Dies After Rheumatism and Heart Trouble

Miss Agnes Edwards daughter of Mr and Mrs Asbury Edwards of 111 Seventh avenue died at 12:25 last night after weeks of rheumatism and heart trouble. She was bookkeeper at Dr O A Clark Broadway office and survived by her parents and brother Aaron. Funeral Saturday at two from the house then 230 from St Luke's M B Church. Dodd Dogs Win at Westminster Show in New York

Dodd's White Star Kennels won multiple prizes at the Westminster Kennel Club show at Madison Square Garden on the 9th. White Star Girl took Champion and first in open class with reserve in winners. White Star Barry won special prizes. The show drew 78 St Bernards, and Watching Leo placed third in the limit class. Judge Miss A A Whitney, a Garden veteran of over twenty years, praised the quality of the dogs.

Waneta Council Entertains Social Evening at Red Men’s Hall

Waneta Council D of P held a social evening at Red Men's Hall last night with about 100 attendees. Card playing and refreshments provided the main entertainment, fifteen tables were needed, and twenty-four awards were distributed at the close. The ladies organized the event with warm hospitality and plans for future similar evenings.

Mrs. Harper wife of William D Harper superintendent of Monmouth Memorial Hospital spent winter in New York. She fell several weeks ago and was severely injured but has since recovered during her stay here yesterday.
