Fourth class boats from South Shrewsbury Toe Boat and Yacht Club raced yesterday with two boats entering the Challenge Pennant event. Capt Edwards aboard Piva won the afternoon five mile race in ten minutes five seconds while Lola and Elva split the other races amid collisions and breakages. Ice conditions and high winds hampered sailing on the river with several incidents including a crew injury and boats damaged.

Footpad Attacks Girls Near Home in Asbury Park
Two sisters Missen Wyona and Adelaide McClelland of Asbury Park were grabbed by a lone footpad on South Main Street near their home. Wyona was seized from behind and thrown to the ground before the assailant fled into an alley toward Ocean Grove. Neighbors, including Clark Haviland and Frank Hurley, chased but the man escaped. No one was injured beyond fright and loss of peace of mind.
