Celebrating the Nineteenth Anniversary of Tookawassee Tribe
One of the area’s largest family gatherings occurred at the Lyceum last night as Tookawassee Tribe No. 158 Improved Order of Red Men marked its nineteenth anniversary. More than six hundred guests attended a program of speaking vaudeville and dancing beginning at 8:30 with Great Keeper of Wampum W. J. Smythe opening and Great Sachem John Thomson delivering the main address. The Broadway Theatre provided extra entertainment with a local vaudeville showing, followed by dancing and socializing, while a committee chaired by Smythe and including Gilmore West and others organized the event77

The Sea Bright M E Church trustees hosted a New England supper drawing visitors from nearby towns. Net proceeds reached 325 dollars with 16 more from food sales, exceeding hopes of 400 total and funding church projects. The event may become an annual Sea Bright feature.
