Freaks Gala at Eatontown Dances Draw Huge Crowd

A Crescent hall masquerade dance in Eatontown benefitting the local fire company drew visitors from Long Branch Red Bank and beyond. Attendees wore a wide range of costumes and masks with prizes for originality prettiness and decency. Wolcott's Orchestra supplied music and refreshments were served as prizes were awarded for best costumes and most original outfits.

Lang from Newark Gets Thirty Days in County Jail

Charles Lang of Newark, who claimed to walk from Asbury Park, was sentenced to thirty days in the county jail by Recorder Arronsmith. Lang sought a sleep-in and was picked up for panhandling near City Hall after wandering traffic and pedestrians. He thanked the recorder upon sentencing.

The service honored Augustus Thomas, longtime Bible school teacher and Missionary Society president. Dr. Fisher led the tribute as a quartet sang Abide With Me and Face to Face. Dentists push free clinics in Monmouth County towns

A movement to establish free dental clinics in Red Bank Atlantic Highlands Long Branch and Asbury Park began at a Monmouth County Dental Association meeting. Dr Be Van Bern announced a committee to study feasibility and Asbury Park officials pledged about 1000 for equipment. Dr VanDorn said the drive is genuine with local doctors volunteering time and towns urged to support clinic operations.

Men s League elects officers at Red Bank church meeting

The Men s League of the First Baptist Church Red Bank elected officers and appointed committees at its annual gathering. Frank No Worth resumes as president, Benjamin Ford as vice president, Myron Slater as treasurer, and Lyon Hunt as secretary. Committees include chanceman W D Robbins and others. Judge Haight to be sworn in as U S District Judge

United States District Judge Thomas G. Haight will be sworn in to the office to which he was appointed by President Wilson. Born August 4, 1879 at the Light homestead near Freehold New Jersey he was educated at Freehold Military Institute, Princeton and New York Law School. He has held multiple public legal posts in Jersey City and Hudson County and is a Democrat active in state politics.

Red Bank Health Board Reports Sewer Connections Expanded

The Red Bank Board of Health met Thursday night and heard an encouraging report on sewer connections. John H. Mount sought a one year extension but received only 30 days. Connections extend along Front street and several blocks near Maple avenue. No communicable diseases were found in the borough. Dr Sagee to contact the New York Board of Health about culture tubes for a kit. A Reds garage contractor requested a site to place a waste tank. the board noted their policy.

Glasgow ship crew rescued as lifeboat reaches shore

A Creek lifeboat crew rescued several sailors early this morning after a quay incident. The remaining crew stayed aboard the ship as a breaker battered the vessel, while two life savers tended to the shore. Infant Barone died yesterday, with funeral services set for Holy Trinity Church Sunday at two. Burial will be at Mount Carmel cemetery. A revenue cutter and tug stood by at Sea Bright Dock as Rumson Chapter No. 41 Daughters of Rebekah hosted an installation night at Rumson Lodge with visitors and refreshments.

Social Club Forming Nine Bowling Teams Challenges County

Members of the Long Branch Social Club organized nine bowling teams and will meet the L B Pilots next Tuesday night at the Lyceum alleys. The club also notes a yacht club meeting and ice yachting outlook as river conditions improve.
