Gold Watch Found For Fred Gerner At Jersey Coast Event

Fred Gerner once a Long Branch railroad agent and Western Union manager was honored at the Hotel Knickerbocker with a gold watch after leaving his coastal post for the theater. Thomas Cochran presented the gift in appreciation of Gerner’s career and athletic feats, including world record jumps and appearances with Buffalo Bill.

Large Reception at Lyceum Ends Benefit for Parochial School

A grand card party at the Lyceum drew 58 tables for a social evening to aid the Parochial school. Mrs. John Hicks organized the event with a committee, distributed over eighty souvenirs, and saw dancing after a buffet lunch and three musical pieces led by Harold Dennett.

Charity Ball Alights at Lyceum Tonight for Monmouth Hospital

The twenty first annual charity ball and reception at the Lyceum is hosted by Auxiliary No. 1 of Monmouth Memorial Hospital with Mrs Henry Irving presiding. Electrical decorations and Prof J Pitman orchestra mark the event. Katharine Ridgeway the New York artist will headline the next Popular Course program on Lincoln's Birthday in the Lyceum. Promoted as a premier recital by a celebrated performer, she is warmly welcomed in Washington Spokane and Colfax. A stock company named The Ridgeway has been formed to build a theater in her honor in Inez.
