Justice Voorhees in Freehold sentenced Charles L. Clayton of Asbury Park to die in the electric chair the week of March 11 after a jury found him guilty of first degree murder in the December 10 Lippincott killing. Chief Layton reported from Capt Carroll of the Newark police that two Long Branch girls were captured in Newark. Margaret Brown, 16, of Branchport avenue, and Mary Morrie, 17, of Edwards avenue, were identified and their parents informed. The girls had left home last Sunday week with unknown destination, and their recent whereabouts were a mystery.
