A special master's sale at the late Cynthia A Hoyt's homestead on Atlantic avenue saw multiple parcels sold. John Pearsall bought Rockwell and Fifth avenues lots, J Morton of Metuchen bought a lot there, the Hoyt heirs acquired the Church street house and Atlantic avenue home, with remaining Fifth avenue and Greenlawn cemetery plots sold to heirs. The Morris property attracted heavy bidding, and most of the estate totaling 9100 dollars went to the Hoyt heirs and sister Mrs Julia B Gilman. Chas Asa Francis also bought a stake.

Captain Lewis Dies From Fall After Civil War Veteran
Captain Robert H. Lewis, injured two weeks earlier by a fall from a second story window, died last night at his Bath avenue home. He had been in critical condition for days. Funeral set for Thursday from the Bath avenue OWS with Rev. Dr. John Y. Dobbins officiating. Interment at Glenwood Cemetery in charge of John G. Sexton. He was a Civil War veteran and longtime Red Bank resident, last of seven brothers, survived by widow and daughter Mrs. Lillie Krismeyer in New York. The Red Bank and James B. Morris G. A. R. posts will attend in a body. He captained the steamer Elberon of the Patten Line for years.
