Special features filled the Empire theatre on Monmouth Street with Ed Dunkhorst the monologist Dory and Denton the musicians Isabella the dancer and Barthlew Company muscular exhibitions. William Steinberg sang several songs as the theatre undergoes a full overhaul to improve sightlines and stage access for road drama. Christmas Eve guests included Red Bank newsies from Long Branch Daily Record who enjoyed pictures vaudeville and candy boxes.

Clammer 5 Burned to Death in Home
The body of Belmar clammer James White, 74, was found in the charred ruins of his 14 foot square shanty by Shark River near the Herbert Heroy place. Coroner A W Bennett suspects a heart attack caused his fall and lantern ignition during the night. Also found were the burned remains of his two dogs and a cat. White had lived by digging and selling clams and seafood. He is survived by two brothers and two sons.

Fully one hundred people from Red Bank attended the Eintracht Singing Society annual Christmas celebration in the Patterson Spinning building rooms. Decorated interiors featured greens and a large elaborately trimmed Christmas tree. Santa Claus, played by Harry Smock, handed out candy and oranges to children. An engaging program included an orchestral overture and Die Nacht Die Eintracht Society with Joseph Eschelbach delivering an address.
