Santa Claus Party A Charity Event For Red Bank
The Independent Fire Company of Red Bank held a Santa Claus Party at the Mechanic Street firehouse from nine to twelve. Volunteers distributed candy apples oranges dolls rockers and clothing along with potatoes flour and groceries to needy families. Mayor John M Carlies donated a large Christmas tree. Louis J Tetley chaired the effort and played Santa. Over a hundred children attended as the Red Bank Brass Band performed free of charge.

A small crowd watched a Lyceum court basketball contest between the Packer Social Club's senior team and the club's junior squad. The seniors dominated, leading 97 to 26 at halftime, with only two regulars playing the full game while the rest rested as substitutes. The junior captain Schmidty led the youths, and fear of damaging the junior team’s reputation prompted the captain to forgo the final half. The seniors played essentially alone, using the Juniors only for practice time.
