Rumson Boys Confess School Theft and Face County Action

Four Rumson schoolboys Harold Tilton Harold Brill Percy Harvey and John Gaynor were arraigned after Gaynor confessed to taking funds from the Rumson school Christmas fund. The youths admitted breaking into both schools Sunday afternoon and stealing small sums for candy. They were reprimanded and referred to county authorities. Five Year Sentence for White Slaver Romeo

Joseph Romeo known as the White Slaver received two years on a conspiracy count and three years on the White Slaver charge in U S District Court New York. Chief Arthur L Wymbs Red Bank and others testified including Joseph Leonard and Constable William Chandler. Romeo’s conviction came in six hours setting a court record and alimony charged doctor Charles Hendrick linked to a prior case was jailed in Brooklyn on non payment of alimony.

Dennis Divorced After Long Contest in Carlisle Court

In Cumberland County Pennsylvania an absolute divorce was granted to Mrs Ann Painter Dennis from husband Frank Dennis after a seventeen year separation. The decree provides her a life income in lieu of alimony and names Farmers Trust Co of Carlisle as trustee. Both parties retain the right to remarry. Dennis, a noted watercress and ice entrepreneur, previously ran farms in several states and once operated a watercress farm in West Long Branch.

Bradley Beach man shot by accidental pistol discharge

Lawrence Collins of Bradley Beach was shot in the back by an 88 caliber pistol while his brother and he examined the weapon in bed. He was treated at Monmouth Memorial Hospital after X rays revealed the bullet embedded six inches in his flesh and carrying fabric particles.

Firefighters from Fair Haven responded quickly to a blaze at the Kennedy residence on Leonard Avenue. Mrs Kennedy woke to smoke around two o clock and the husband discovered flames in the kitchen before raising the alarm.
