Paralyzed Woman Dies After Fire at West Grove Home

An 86 year old paralyzed West Grove resident Mia Annie Trice died twelve hours after a bedside blaze severely burning her at the corner of Prospect and Division streets. Neighbors rushed in to pull her from flames as her daughter Zoe, later known for Salome like garb, was away. The fire was contained before it reached surrounding homes.

Former Councilman James Campbell elected commander of Jas 8 Morris Post No 46 G A R. Woman Declared to Stand Trial for Daughter's Murder

Mrs. Caroline B. Martin of Newark was ordered by Judge Ten Byck to be sane and stand trial for the murder of her daughter Ocey Snead in Hast Orange after a lengthy sanity hearing. Williams Habeas Writ Dismissed in Asbury Park Case

Justice Voorhees in New Brunswick dismissed the writ of habeas corpus for Thomas Williams known as Black Diamond, held in Freehold jail on suspicion of assault and murder of Marie Smith at Asbury Park. Prosecutor Applegate opposed the writ and charged Williams with illegal voting, bail set at 1090 for assault and murder and 1000 for illegal voting.

Valuable pacer Merry Bells killed after fall on Red Bank speedway

On Upper Broad Street Red Bank a speedway event drew many famed trotters and pacers. The noted black pacer Merry Bells owned by Frank Marx of Shrewsbury fell after a pass attempt and broke a foreleg. L. H. Striker had the animal shot. Marx refused to name a value.

Century Athletic Club pool contest opens at Keyport

The Century Athletic Club begins a series of pool elimination matches with two 50 point games on separate nights. Winners advance to finals. forfeits occur if contestants miss a scheduled night. New 60 000 Theatre Planned for Long Branch

Myres and Levine announce a $60,000 up to date theatre to be built on the MoeKerns lot by May 1 1911 adjoining St James Church site. The house, patterned after George at Galton New York, will be two stories, 125 by 90 feet, with a 1400 seat balcony and lobby 40 by 60 feet. Contracts already made for next summer’s Empire Theatre shows.

Fair Haven Woman Dies at 53 in Orphaned Tribute

Fair Haven woman 53 dies leaving an aged mother Mrs Martha Bennett and five brothers and sisters in Fair Haven. The funeral from her home at 10 30 tomorrow with interment in Evergreen cemetery Little River. Rev Robert MacKellar officiates and the service will include Holy Communion. Trolley Derailed Near Highlands In City Line

Derailment disrupted the trolley service as the car left Highlands yesterday. A wrecking crew was summoned from Keypert and relief workers assisted passengers in attempting to realign the car onto the tracks.
