The annual three day bazaar of the Ladies Aid Society of the Simpson Memorial M E Church opened in the church basement on Garfield Avenue with Rev Dr Handley blessing. Hundreds visited, enjoyed an oyster supper, and shopped at decorated booths as Prof J Pitman West's orchestra provided music.

Miss Eliza Stuart died Tuesday night of tuberculosis at her sister Mrs. David K Hampton’s home in Port Monmouth. A Scotland native who came to the United States five years ago, she was 37. She leaves three sisters and three brothers in various lands. Funeral held yesterday at the Hampton residence with Rev Archibald H Sutphin officiating. Interment in Fair View Cemetery Middletown. Funeral director Melvin P Yard of Belford in charge.

Major J C Mallory aged 69 dies after leaping headfirst from the ninth floor of the Manhattan Hotel in New York City.
