City board roots for pavement along trolley tracks
At a city meeting the Board of Commissioners discussed paving between Chelsea and Brighton avenues along Atlantic Coast Electric Railway tracks. City Engineer Seaman and the board will review the street Saturday at ten. The Burns contract paid 21804.96, and officials warned delays could ruin city pavement if the electric company does not act. The mayor noted the ordinance requires paving and repair within two feet of the tracks. The solicitor's opinions are awaited before possible legal steps before cold weather. A tentative 1914 department budget was urged by Commissioner Howland.
