Fire destroyed an ice house owned by Veronica Pannac and a carriage house and chicken houses owned by B Romaine at Black Point. Water had to be fetched from Polly's Pond three quarters of a mile away, delaying suppression as Sea Bright Oceanic Rumson and Red Bank units fought the blaze. Estimated damage about 5000 dollars insured. Fire origin unknown. crowd swelled along the avenue while volunteers aided residents.

Solk, driving a delivery wagon, was struck by a car driven by Albert Moore on Liberty street near Scobey grocery. His hand was cut and treated by Dr Kahn after heavy bleeding and multiple stitches. A later display event featured a clam bake with a bomb test and a large crowd, horns, and klaxons drawing attention.

Racing was the day’s highlight with exciting finishes and a six heat 2.15 pace won by Mamis C. Nellie McClintock took the three year old race, driven by Crawford Giberson. Exhibits included drag hunt, fox hunters, vaudeville acts, and a balloon ascent, with mayhem-free thrills for thousands of county children attending.
