Slocum Emerges as Senate President Candidate in New Jersey

In Trenton on August 27 Senator John W. Slocum of Monmouth County gains support as the leading Democrat for President of the next New Jersey Senate if four of six county seats win this fall. Backing comes from Edward E. Grosseup, David S. Crater, Job H. Lippincott, and Otto Wittpenn.

Wakelee elected unanimous GOP State Committee Chairman

Edmund W. Wakelee of Hackensack was chosen unanimously to lead the Republican State Committee, succeeding Frank O. Briggs. Jersey youth murders father to save mother in New Jersey

In Vineland New Jersey Henry Garton twenty one surrendered to police claiming he killed his father J R Garton a wealthy horseman to prevent his mother from being murdered. The fight occurred in the kitchen as the elder man drank and argued with his wife. Henry struck with a kitchen knife during a struggle and mortally wounded his father.

Son of Ex Mayor Kingsland Dies at 75

Henry P. Kingsland, well known Unicorn Avenue resident and son of former New York Mayor Ambrose C. Kingsland, died yesterday at age seventy five from a paralytic stroke. He stricken last Thursday and never recovered. Funeral set for eight o'clock tomorrow at the Kingsland home with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery Thursday morning. Red Bank Fair Opens Thursday For Fifth Annual Exhibition

Freas Infant Dead At Four Months

Freas infant son of Mr. and Mrs. George Freas of Sixth avenue died early this morning from marasmus. Funeral services will be held at the house tomorrow afternoon with interment at Glenwood cemetery under the charge of William H. Morris Jr. Zigormar vs Nick Carter at Ocean Park Theatre tonight.
