Annual River Outing for Sea Bright Officials and Guests

P Hall Packer and Chas L Edwards of the Sea Bright News and Long Branch Record hosted a river outing for railroad officials county officers and prominent citizens. The group sailed from Sea Bright to Fair Haven and Rumson then to Price's Pleasure Bay for a two and a half hour clambake before returning. Noted attendees included L B Cass president Waterloo Cedar Falls & Northern Ry Co H F Ball of American Locomotive Co and many C R R of N J executives.

Dispute at Fountain Leads to Court Action

Bills approving nearly four thousand dollars were passed by the city hall finance committee for the August carnival. A tentative balance of 411.34 was projected after expenses, with potential increases from unreported balances and a prior city payment.

Trade Board Elects Housman and Benjamin at City Hall

Clarence J. Housman and I. R. Benjamin were chosen as members of the Board of Trade at a City Hall meeting. Housman chaired the August 12 automobile floral parade while Benjamin led a citizens’ fund drive to procure mementoes for Mr. Rehm and Mrs. Parker. William B. Allgor Now Living Here After Release From Freehold

James M. Allgor of Sea Bright, freed from Freehold yesterday under conditions that he not return to Sea Bright until next year, is staying with relatives on Jackson Street. Delegates from Red Bank, Rev. Geo S. Johnson pastor of Grace Odist Church, and Vernon A. Bennett and others of Washington Camp No. 85 P O S of A, returned from the annual State convention in Atlantic City. They brought a silk parade flag for Red Bank Camp’s high membership rate of 68 new members. Vernon Gennett received a gold emblem pin for the most members secured. Shrewsbury water pageant discussion ends with plan to delay carnival unless meadow yacht South Shrewsbury Long Branch and power boat clubs unite. Board of Trade to help if clubs organize. A joint meeting of the Washington Park Association and the Doll Carnival Committee is set for tonight at Mrs. O. A. Clark’s home. W. S. B. Parker, in charge of the coronation night music, will join to finalize plans for the coronation and pageant as the park area is prepared.

Mrs J J O Donohue returns to her Norwood Park cottage after a lengthy drive to Brentwood New Hampshire with a party of six. The travelers covered about six states totaling 1300 miles in the journey.

Meritorious Carnival Workers Honored in Long Branch

The Board of Trade honored Harry C. Rehm chairing the carnival and Mrs. John Hubbard Parker head of the children's pageant with tokens of appreciation for their meritorious services during the August carnival. A committee plans to raise funds to defray costs for the mementos, initially proposed as a shore dinner, then at a Board of Trade meeting to hear final reports.

Stork Arrives During Private Ambulance Transfer

A private ambulance called to Grant avenue for East Side Fresh Air Home conveyed a woman to Monmouth Memorial Hospital where she gave birth en route. Mother and infant, both in a private ward, were reported doing well this evening. Holmdel Infant Dead. Carl Phillips one month old son of Charles W and Annie Phillips of Holmdel died last night from brain trouble. Funeral service to be held tomorrow at two o'clock from the Phillips residence. Interment in Holmdel cemetery with Harry Pay funeral director of Re Bank in charge.

The Weather Bureau predicts the next thirty six hours bringing generally fall conditions to the south with local showers in the north. Cooler tonight in the northwest and cooler Thursday with light to moderate west to northwest winds. Observations note a 70 degree high yesterday and 68 low last night with a 62 percent humidity at 8 am. One year ago today was partly cloudy with 74 degrees. Frost reported in North Dakota Wyoming and Saskatchewan.

Narrow Escape Drowning Near Leland Inn

A party of four at Ocean Park nearly lost a young woman when she toppled into shallow water in front of the Leland Inn. After a brief struggle her partner pulled her back into the boat. Saving yacht party rescues two men on North Shrewsbury

A Red Bank sailing party hosted by the Weis sisters aided two exhausted men after a yawl boat capsized in a heavy storm near Sandy Hook. The motor launch diverted to recover the men who were clinging to a dyke before rescue at the High Lands. Passengers included Miss Goldstein and Miss Belva Goldstein plus several Red Bank and New York residents.

Charles Mann 21 of Frankfort Penn died at Monmouth Memorial Hospital after typhoid. Funeral directors Hyer and Flock shipped the body to Frankfort today. Floyd Rush, Batontown, assumes Ed von Kattengell’s Broad Street garage and will run the business with a full line of auto supplies. Rush is Dr J C Rush's son and formerly chauffeur for John Applegate on Eatontown Boulevard.

Baseball Series for $1 000 Stake Next Week

A five game series between Long Branch and Asbury Park led by the Lincoln Giants is set for next week with a $1,000 stake. Games will be at Asbury Park on carnival week with Long Branch limited to three pitchers Waller Coakley and Lindermann. Two umpires will be Van Cleat and Ritter. Frank Chance plans to bring his Chicago Cubs for Sunday's game, arriving Saturday and staying till Monday.

Car stolen from Temple in Ocean Grove during fairyland festival

Mrs Dilts reported a Hupmobile stolen from in front of the Temple in Ocean Grove while her party attended a children's festival. The black bodied car with red running gear and New Jersey plate 18787 was last seen leaving West Long Branch, with James Atchinson alerting police at 11 16 p m as night patrols searched.

Death of Crippled Children's Home visitor in Monmouth

Annte Saitte aged years died of pneumonia at Monmouth Memorial Hospital early today. She was the daughter of James and Mary Saitte of New York and had visited the Crippled Children's Home at Oakhurst. Remains to be shipped to New York on an afternoon train by Hyer and Flock funeral directors.

Warns Against Two Collectors in Long Branch

Louisa Rolles criticizes two collectors, Judge Raymond and P. H. White, for canvassing for the home for colored orphans and old people without authority.
