Mexican President Huerta receives Lind inquiry results but rejects mediation terms. The official statement denies reports of concessions and signals a firm stance amid the ongoing diplomatic exchange with the envoy.
President Huerta faced a sober warning from special envoy John Lind during a two hour conference about mediation efforts. Charles Doerg, formerly of the Atlantic Hotel, is held in Jefferson Market police station awaiting extradition on charges of stealing jewelry and clothing from the tic Hotel in the city. Detective Captain William D Walling located him and had him held. Arnold Wilson, colored, was arrested in Newark on grand larceny, accused of taking a watch and chain from his father Jefferson Wilson. He was arraigned in Recorder's Court and held in $200 bail to await the grand jury.
At Trenton Aug 19 officers for the coming year were nominated with contests for President and Secretary. Nominees include Assemblyman Arthur Quinn of Perth Amboy for President representing the Carpenters Union and A J Cozio of Newark for Second Vice President as Police Benefit events headline tonight at Oobs Ocean Avenue Airdrome.
