Painter Lund Dies by Own Action in Red Bank

Loren Lund a renowned Red Bank painter and decorator, aged about 70, shot himself in a third floor room at the Central Hotel during a thunderstorm. The act, likely driven by unemployment woes and rheumatic pain, left him dead instantly. funeral services will be held at Fay's parlors with Rev. MacKellar officiating.

Tinners Hold Annual Clambake at Loyalton Grounds

Bridge and Whist Benefit for New York Hospital at Scarboro

Several hundred women gathered at the Scarboro Hotel for a bridge and whist party in aid of the People's Hospital of New York. The event drew a large attendance, raising several hundred dollars for the hospital’s general fund. An enlarged orchestra performed, followed by an open air luncheon in the Venetian garden.

Auto wrecked in head on collision

Two cars collided at Norwood and Cedar last evening causing damage to both vehicles. C C Littlefield of Newark and family in a Locomobile and Paul A Stockel of New York in a red Ranier car survived the crash with no serious injuries. The case was adjourned to Friday morning for further proceedings.

Rescue at Atlantic Highlands Aids Drowning Couple

A daring rescue at dawn near Atlantic Highlands saved Clara Becker and Robert Keller after a passing wake capsized their small motor boat. Keller, 21, an expert swimmer from Hast Orange, dove in to save Becker as darkness hid the river. They drifted for hours before rescuers reached shore and Becker recovered after restorative treatment.

Weather Bureau Forecast For New Jersey

The U S Weather Bureau forecasts unsettled conditions for the next thirty six hours ending Saturday at 6 p m with showers tonight or Saturday and light to moderate northwest winds. Auto accident charms Ocean Grove boy leaves scar risk

Jack Handley, son of Rev. and Mrs. Dr. John Handley of Long Branch, was struck by a car on Broadway near Pilgrim Pathway and taken home unconscious. He is improving, with doctors unsure if facial scarring will remain. Driver G. W. Clark of Hoosie, N. Y., visited the family and expressed relief at the boy’s survival.

Boy Caught With Wheel After Theft on Norwood Ave

Miss Ethel Dangler reported a missing bicycle on Norwood avenue. Patrolman Kingsland arrested eleven year old Chester Hartwick, son of Thomas Hartwick, riding the wheel after it was taken. The youth admitted taking it claiming a ride. Judge Arrowsmith released him to his father and referred the case to the juvenile court.

Sea Bright Cottager W B H Dusenbury Dies

W B H Dusenbury, 45, manager in the supply department of New York Life Insurance, died at his Sea Bright summer home after a two week illness. He lived in Brooklyn and is survived by his widow and one daughter.

Woman Falls From Red Bank Trolley Car
