Carival Queens Crowned At Pretty Ceremony Here
Miss Abnabel Marie Lind of New York was crowned queen of the Midsummer Carnival at the Broadway Theatre in Asbury Park. Mayor Bryant B Newcomb crowned both queens with a two part program of music and juvenile displays delighting the audience. The event opened the carnival season running through August 16 with Queen Elizabeth IV and court to attend the horse show and events at the Yachtwood Hotel.

Immense crowd views Thursday night fireworks at Long Branch
A large crowd estimated at 5 000 gathered along Ocean Front from Chelsea Avenue to Broadway in Long Branch for the first in a summer series of weekly fireworks displays. The show, funded by Peter John W Wilson and local business leaders, began at 9 30 PM with an aerial bomb and continued along the boardwalk. Traffic was halted and spectators endured the loud blasts as thousands witnessed the coastal display.
