Brundage Loses Control of Antler Market in Red Bank

Matthias Brundage pro prietor of the Antler Market in Red Bank on Monmouth Street near Broad Street allegedly threw Herbert Hannach, connected with Leo Stein's Newark law office, onto the sidewalk after a dispute. A bankruptcy petition by Sulzberger & Co. led Judge Joseph Cross in Trenton to appoint Borough Counsel Philip Elliott as receiver, with Elliott and Hannach taking charge of the market before Brundage appeared. A hearing is planned in Trenton this week. Brundage reportedly owes about $9,000 to Sulzberger & Co. The store's perishables and assets are to be handled by receiver Elliott.

Oceanic Inn Rented by Paulist Club for Summer

A. J. Ligier rents the Oceanic Inn on the Shrewsbury River to the Paulist Athletic Club of New York for the summer. The inn, on the riverfront at Oceanic, had been closed and was formerly run by the late Arthur L. Brill. John Kelly of Shrewsbury oversees arrangements.

Firemen's Dance at Oceanic Hall Tonight

The Oceanic Hook and Ladder Company hosts a dance in Red Men's Hall tonight with Wymans orchestra providing music. The Rumson auto bus will depart after the event for Red Bank and Sea Bright.

Fire engine test announced for Monmouth Beach

Word reached Chief Mihm that La France Fire Engine Co will show an auto engine test in Monmouth Beach on Wednesday or Thursday this week. Otto Beutell lobbied by phone and said the test may occur at Manahasset Park.

Red Bank residents reported in critical condition

Several Red Bank residents are ill with many confined to their homes. George Stout on Monmouth Street has a critical condition and Henry Gill, veteran and builder, suffered a stroke with doubtful recovery. Frank Longstreet on Spring Street is extremely critical after a relapse. Mrs Longstreet and Mrs Monroe Van Sant are also in serious condition under medical care.

Licensed Exhorter Joins St Luke's at Tinton Falls

The first 1913 quarterly conference of St Luke's M E Church featured the Ladies Aid Society ice cream and cake reception for District Superintendent Dr James W Marshall and Rev John Y Jobbins. Junior Leroy Barry, a student at Chattle, was licensed as an exhorter and assigned to Tinton Falls. Barry will lead Sunday school with assistant John A McGuire. William H. Riddle previously granted local exhorter license will receive parchment soon. J W Seaman named district steward and Alf Asay as alternate.

Walter L. Davis Weds Miss Mina Martin

Walter L. Davis and Mina Thompson Martin were married in a quiet Red Bank ceremony at the Red Bank First Baptist parsonage attended by close relatives. The couple left for a two week bridal tour to Albany Buffalo Niagara Falls and will reside at 119 Monmouth Street Red Bank. Davis works as head salesman at Clarence White's shoe store and is active in local groups including the Sons of Veterans and Royal Arcanum.

Rabid dog attacks in Matawan and West Keyport prompt action

A vicious dog struck in West Keyport and Matawan injuring several dogs and biting James Flynn and John Dock before being killed at its owner's home. Rabies confirmed. authorities issued dog kill orders and prepared to send the head to the state health board.

Chauffeur Crin Killed in Queens Automobile Crash

James Crin a longtime West End chauffeur died when the car he drove struck a pole on Merrick Road Springfield Queens. His brother in law Thoms Conrow was seriously injured with a fractured skull. The Monmouth Diugnty Board of Freeholders met to decide on funding a Red Bank Armory site. They voted to guarantee a $6000 voucher to buy the site if the state writes that his appropriation will not lapse and construction will begin. They also instructed attorneys to push the Ocean Boulevard road with the Bonding Company liable if work does not start within ten days.
