Death of Harmon Edwards Shocks Local Community
Harmon W. Edwards of 29 Oakwood Avenue died suddenly at his home shortly after 10 last night after reporting heart pains. A painter by trade, he had worked yesterday for Isaac B. White of Oakhurst and spent time with Frederick R. Bennett before collapsing. Born in Eatontown, he was the son of the late Squire John C. Edwards. survived by his sister Mrs. Emma White of Connecticut. Funeral arrangements by Wm. H. Morris Jr. set for Tuesday at 2 p.m. with interment at West Long Branch cemetery.

Red Bank Pastor Builds Church Lot and Growth Plans
Rev J J Adams of A M E Zion Church in Red Bank has purchased a lot at Shrewsbury avenue and Beach street and raised about 1200 for running costs while expanding the congregation from 60 to 80. A new church building is planned for next year costing 8000 to 10000 with tile or brick construction and seating for 500. A parsonage is being purchased next door. Adams will attend the Paterson annual conference on April 30.

City commissioners heard three five year lease offers to resurrect Ocean Park as an amusement center with band concerts. Albert M Younger of New York proposed high payments starting at 3000 for year one, rising with pier operation and 5 percent gross receipts, plus renewal option at 6000 annually. American Amusement Agency offered 2000, 3000, 3500 then 4000 per year with renewal. A D V Story of Madison Square Garden proposed a five year lease with renewal and installation plans.

Eatontown Man Escapes In Second Crossing Accident
Corblin of Eatontown narrowly avoided death when his wagon was struck by a freight train at Manee Crogging opposite Elkwood Park. His horse was killed and the wagon wrecked, marking a second such incident after a similar crash three years ago near Fresh Pond Road. He saved himself by pulling the horse back as the train neared, losing milk for his customers in the wreck.
