Ocean Highway Washout at Galilee Threatens Bulkhead
The Galilee washout has grown into a serious coastal problem with 150 feet of new opening from Lockwood Fish Market toward Daly cottage. Ocean avenue ends are washed away, blocking traffic and exposing gas and water pipes to sea inroads as heavy seas continue. George Woolley, bulkhead builder, witnessed the scene and said orders to proceed were given.

Eatontown Methodist Cornerstone to Be Relaid Sunday
The Eatontown Methodist church cornerstone will be relaid on Sunday afternoon April 20 supervised by Dr. James W. Marshall and Rev F Garrison. A copper box from Cook & Oakley will hold a paper copy of this item a list of contributors and church documents. The church moved to Broad Street last month across a field from the Jersey Central tracks and will receive further exterior and interior improvements. The history notes the 1848 arrival of Methodists in Eatontown with Rev Jos eph Chattle and Rev Samuel M. Hudson assisting in 1849.
