Trenton April 10 The mothers pension law bill by Senator Nichols of Cumberland County was signed yesterday afternoon by Governor Fielder and becomes law It aims to rear and educate children of dependent widows at home rather than in almshouses or institutions Assembly bills 282 and 283 by Mr Egan of Hudson County were approved The first allows the Prison Labor Commission to acquire a farm and quarry for convict labor The second authorizes the State Road Commissioner to seek convicts for road work and permits temporary parole by the State Prison Keeper Assembly bill 462 by Mr McCabe of Hudson County establishing vocational education defining it as education to fit for profitable employment The Board of Education may establish such schools or two districts may unite The Hennessy bill opening public school buildings as social centers and other purposes is now law Assembly bill 666 establishing summer schools for agriculture manual training and related subjects was signed It provides for summer schools designated by the State Board of Examiners and approved by the State Board of Education for training teachers in elementary agriculture manual training and household economies
