Two colored youths plead guilty to robberies at Asbury Park
Henry Burney and Harvey Gross, both 17, from Asbury Park, pleaded guilty before Judge Foster to several robberies and were sentenced to Rahway reformatory. William Bell, 20, confessed to four robberies and was released to probation. Other local cases saw Square DeRegatis fined for illegal liquor sale, Powell Banks held for trial, W. J. Lifelong farmer George Bowman dies after stroke illness
George W. Bowman a lifelong farmer died at his Parker Avenue home in West Long Branch New Jersey after his third stroke five weeks earlier. Funeral services were set for Saturday at two o clock at the Bowman homestead with Rev. C B Fisher officiating. He was aged 82 and survived by his wife Mary Bennett Bowman a son Samuel L Bowman a daughter Mrs Charles J Bridge a sister Mrs Elster Margaret Schenck nine grandchildren and other relatives.
