Weekend gridiron picks from a rambling prognosticator
A chaotic collage of college football picks dominates this column. Teams such as Occidental, Modesto, Compton, Centennial, Stanford, Maryland, Minnesota, Purdue, Washington State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas Tech, LSU, Texas A and M, Texas, Georgia Tech, Army, and more are forecast to win with spirited, often humorous asides. The prose drifts into boxing lore, recounting Dempsey and Rocky Marciano, ending with a cascade of historical heavyweight hypotheticals.
