Lecture Series Links Science and Spiritual Truth
Keith Hargett of the Moody Institute will present a week of demonstrations at Tracy Auditorium showing harmony between scientific fact and spiritual truth. Each evening Monday through Friday at 7 30 will feature different acts including floating rings, altered chemical colors, and a musical beam of light. Youth for Christ sponsors the free program, with admission by freewill offering. children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Halloween Foods Drop Prices Boost Thrifty Shopping
Associated Press notes Halloween specials across many stores cut prices on apples cider pumpkin pie doughnuts and party candy. Pork prices eased in many markets while beef pot roasts were trimmed by up to 16 cents a pound to attract shoppers. Eggs remained steady after a small late price dip, with other meats fowl and lamb also featured. The Agriculture Department predicts ample turkeys and raisins in November and urges thrifty shoppers to consider these items, along with carrots dried foods and nuts, for savings.

Six Million Loan Backed for Israel Reclamation
The Jewish national fund Keren Kayemeth received a $6,000,000 loan from Bank of America in San Francisco. Funds will finance land acquisition and drainage of the Huleh swamp and other reclamation projects in northeastern Israel.

Hollywood report says Jerry Wald, a former RKO production head, has become vice president of Columbia Pictures.
