NBC plans half hour of free time for DNC chief
Democratic National Chairman Stephen Mitchell requested free radio and TV time to counter President Truman era speeches. NBC offered a 30 minute TV slot at 8 30 and a radio slot at 10 30 Saturday. CBS and ABC refused similar requests saying policy bars responses to the President or his cabinet on air.
