Hancock independent dealers and distributors from Long Beach and vicinity heard Newcomb D. Taylor, sales manager of Hancock Oil Co, speak at the annual dinner meeting last night about expanding exploration and dealing in many parts of the United States and foreign countries. He noted heavy investments are needed to assure future supply as consumption grows, and that Hancock now has more than 700 operators in California. Carlyle Emery of Ruthrauff & Ryan urged better products and service amid fierce competition. L. Lorden and Robert Brandson outlined advertising and sales promotion plans for the coming year. Girl Who Slew Mother Recalled as L A Resident
Celeste Molly Morrow a 15 year old girl accused in Oakland of killing her mother after an argument over a boyfriend was described by Long Beach neighbors as very well mannered. The Morrows lived in Los Angeles area in the early 1940s before moving to San Pedro. Molly claims she stabbed her mother with a kitchen knife after Mrs Morrow ordered the boyfriend to leave. She is in a County Juvenile Home awaiting a hearing on October 3.
