Bee Causes Carpenter's Death In Mysterious Honey Bite

In Harlan County George W. Walker a 36 year old carpenter died en route to hospital after a bee entered his mouth and he felt tingling and dizziness. Coroner Tommy Lee reported Walker who worked near Black Mountain was in good health with no heart trouble prior to the incident. Witnesses said he tried to spit out the bee then tripped and collapsed while walking to his camp in Sunshine.

Youth 19 and Pal Draw Life Terms in Kidnap Holdup

A 19-year-old Long Beach youth James G. Taylor and his 23-year-old accomplice Dewey J. Martineau were each sentenced to life in prison after a Superior Court jury found them guilty of robbery and kidnapping for robbery. Judge Joseph M. Mallory denied leniency, asserting mandatory terms under Youth Authority provisions. The pair, described as a soft-spoken oil field worker and a Warren Avenue resident, were connected to the May 25 motel robbery of W Rogers, 48, who met them at a bar and was robbed of $100. the incident followed by their arrests and trial.

Downey Woman Hangs Self After Longnote Clue
