Chicago Crash Kills Four in Halsted Street Wreck

Four people died and one was critically injured when their car struck an abutment on S Halsted Street. Firemen spent about an hour removing bodies from the wreckage. The dead include Lavergne Clifford, Jessie Hard, 35, Earl McArthur, and an unidentified youth around 21.

Juvenile duo dubbed “boy and girl thugs” rob barber for $1.16

In Paramount a 15-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy wearing disguises entered the E Compton barber shop and assaulted barber Jack Fuller, stealing $1.16. Ammunition Truck Blasts Into Car West of Omaha

An ammunition truck rammed a passenger car on a busy four lane highway ten miles west of Omaha and exploded repeatedly. Three people were killed and two injured directly, with a fourth death linked to the crash and fire. Co owner of a nearby inn died of a heart attack. Teen Thugs Nab Robber After Hours Of Terror

Raymond Broshears an 18 year old nurse says he was kidnapped choked and robbed by two youths Friday night and early today. They forced him into a car on Locust and First Street then dragged him and demanded his money. He escaped by leaping from the moving vehicle near E Ocean Blvd and Coronado Ave. The attackers fled with $32. Police describe the suspects as about 17 or 18 years old and 140 pounds.
