The WAA Hawaii office is closing after selling materials valued at 72 million dollars, with 750 thousand still owed of an original 360 million. Glen Taylor, regional director, says the local office supplied the figures and that for every dollar spent, six dollars were taken in by the supplier.
Plans filed for a parish hall at 5201 Stearns St as first phase of a $500,000 Our Lady of Refuge church and parochial school project. Heusel notes the seven room two story house features mahogany floors wall panels and raftered ceilings with copper hooded kitchen range and dark marble fireplace. The residence sits on over three quarters of an acre and includes modern heating ventilation and extensive electrical work. It is furnished and viewable by appointment through H Herschel Hart or Rex L Hodges realtors.
City records show plans for a $30,000 single story home by Dr Carlyle L Ahrens at 4255 Chestnut Ave with contractor Robert J Molinnis. The eight room ranch features two bedrooms each with bath and dressing room a maid's room and a large casual room overlooking a rear patio. Exterior wood siding stone accents and cedar shake roof define the design.
