Teeth of extinct sea cow dated to 40 million years ago
Raymond residents Anthony and Mrs. Zile sent seven fossil teeth found on a Brookly n road project to the Smithsonian. Paleontologists identified them as cylindrical teeth of an extinct mammal Cornwalus from oligocene rocks about 40 million years old, confirming the 40 million year lapse with humor from the owners.

Britain and France led a March 1947 pact, expanding to a five nation Brussels alliance and then to the North Atlantic Treaty with 12 signatories in 1949. The plan envisioned a unified European defense force, possibly including American and German troops, overseen by a single commander, though France resisted arming Germany.
