Christians Sue Ballot Ban In California Election
A Christian Nationalist Party suing in California argues a ballot ban on their candidates is unconstitutional. Plaintiffs Geralds, supported by signatures, challenge state filing rules that kept Smith and Robertson off the slate and claim the requirement imposes excessive costs to collect signatures for the senate and president slots. The case centers on candidate inclusion and the party’s access to the ballot under post–L. K. Smith and Charles F. Robeotson precedents.
