Speedy Freight Rams Another, 2 Killed, 3 Hurt
A Denver & Rio Grande freight train rammed the rear of a second freight train one mile west of Pueblo Colorado killing two crew members and seriously injuring three others. The collision derailed the first train’s four unit diesel locomotive and derailed 20 cars. The conductor Hal Van Wye and brakeman L E Ham Mock of the hit train were killed. The injured were the engineer fireman and head brakeman of the first train, J E McGloughlin L L Scott and E T Cox, all reported in serious condition. All five men lived in Pueblo.

Ruttman Sets 175 Mile Record at Indianapolis
